It seems a day can’t go by anymore without a United States Government Agency’s Instagram account taking the internet by storm. This time, it’s the turn of the US Interiors Department to wow us with their artsy snaps.
Following on from the Transport Security Administration’s surprisingly successful foray into social networking, the US Interior Department has also turned to the photo-sharing app to promote their cause.
Tasked with encouraging tourists to visit less-travelled areas of the United States, the Department has been using Instagram to share their unique perspective on landscape, cityscape, nature and travel photography. The images are a pleasant mix of mobile and DSLR, most of which are taken by staff working for the Department.
Mashable report that the account has actually been live for well over a year. Tim Fullerton, Director of Digital Strategy at the Department has expressed his interest in Instagram’s new ability to take and share video content, and reports a “positive response” to the motion clips they have already posted.
