A fascinating ‘advice’ article in this month’s Professional Photographer cast a light on a problem that is the bane of many photographers’ lives – back pain
While sportsmen and women often say their high wages are due to a short career which may be even shorter due to injury, no one tells the aspiring Nick Knight or Annie Leibovitz that success means that accompanying paycheck for the successful photographer is likely to be some modicum of back and neck pain. Or even some sort of RSI. Lugging cameras and equipment around, kneeling and squeezing into awkward positions to get the right angle doesn’t help.
